Why host an "ATTITUDE" Essay Contest?

The purpose of the “Attitude” Essay contest is to encourage an awareness among students about how the attitudes of others toward people with disabilities can serve as barriers to achievement and well-being.

“UCP’s goal is to create a Life Without Limits for People with Disabilities. To have an opportunity to influence the thoughts of a younger audience enables us to fulfill our vision of living in a society where people with physical disabilities have the same opportunities to live, learn, work and play as do people without disabilities. Changing the attitude of one school-aged child has the ability to influence an entire generation.” says Susan S. Schiller, Executive Director, United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Cincinnati.
